greytHR Pricing Explained (2026), and a Cheaper Alternative
greytHR's Essential, Growth and Premium plans explained, what each costs at your team size, add-on prices, and a cheaper alternative for small teams.

Short answer: greytHR has three plans. Essential costs ₹2,495 a month and Growth costs ₹4,495 a month; both cover up to 50 employees, then ₹45 or ₹85 per extra employee a month. Premium is priced on request. Attendance management is in Growth, not Essential, so most teams that need attendance and payroll pay at least ₹4,495 a month plus GST. For a 25-person team that works out to about ₹180 per employee. If you mainly need attendance, leave and simple payroll, Aajar costs ₹35 per user per month for comparable attendance features (₹875 a month for 25 people), and every plan is free for the first 3 months.
This guide breaks down greytHR's pricing as listed on its pricing page and price calculator in October 2026. It shows what you will actually pay at different team sizes, and explains when greytHR is worth it and when a cheaper tool makes more sense.

What greytHR actually costs at your team size
Because the base price covers the first 50 employees, small teams pay the same as a 50-person team. The cost per employee only becomes competitive at around 50 people and above.
| Employees | Essential (per month) | Growth (per month) | Growth, per employee |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | ₹2,495 | ₹4,495 | ₹450 |
| 25 | ₹2,495 | ₹4,495 | ₹180 |
| 50 | ₹2,495 | ₹4,495 | ₹90 |
| 100 | ₹4,745 | ₹8,745 | ₹87 |
| 200 | ₹9,245 | ₹17,245 | ₹86 |
Our calculation from greytHR's published rates: base price + (employees above 50 × per-employee rate). Excludes GST and add-ons.
Over a year, a 25-person team on Growth pays ₹53,940 before GST. A 100-person team pays ₹1,04,940.
greytHR add-ons and their prices
Some features cost extra on Essential and Growth. These are the add-on prices greytHR lists:
| Add-on | Price |
|---|---|
| Performance management (PMS) | ₹35 to ₹45 per user per month (included in Premium) |
| Timesheets | ₹35 per user per month (included in Premium) |
| Expense management | ₹35 per user per month |
| GPS live tracking | ₹140 per user per month |
| Recruit | ₹2,500 per recruiter per month |
| Alumni portal | ₹20 per user per month |
| SSO (SAML) | ₹10 per employee per month |
| REST API | ₹15 per employee per month |
Add-ons add up quickly. A 50-person team on Growth that adds expense management pays ₹4,495 + ₹1,750 = ₹6,245 a month before GST.
Five things to know before you buy
- Attendance needs the Growth plan. greytHR describes Growth as "Everything in Essential + Attendance + Advanced HR", so Essential alone won't track check-ins.
- You pay for 50 employees even if you have 10. The base price is the minimum, which makes greytHR expensive per head for small teams.
- Premium has no public price. You need a sales call for a quote. greytHR says Premium works out about 30% cheaper than Growth plus the equivalent add-ons.
- Annual plans aren't refunded mid-term. There is no lock-in or cancellation fee, but if you cancel an annual subscription early, the unused balance isn't refunded.
- The trial is 7 days. The pricing page offers a 7-day free trial. greytHR announced a free plan for small businesses in 2020, but the current pricing page lists only the trial, so check with greytHR before counting on it.
When greytHR is worth the price
greytHR is a mature Indian HR and payroll platform, and its pricing reflects a broad feature set. It is a strong choice if:
- You want statutory payroll fully automated. greytHR's payroll software includes PF calculations with ECR generation, ESI computations and challans, state-wise professional tax, TDS with Form 24Q, and Form 16.
- You have 50 or more employees, so the base price is spread across enough people.
- You need performance reviews, recruitment or multi-company payroll in the same system.
A cheaper alternative: Aajar
Aajar is an attendance, leave and payroll app for small and mid-sized teams in India, priced per user with no minimum headcount. It suits teams that mainly need reliable attendance and leave, with salaries and payslips from the same records.

Aajar's Growth plan (₹35 per user per month) is the closest match to greytHR Growth: both add shifts, geofenced check-in and overtime on top of attendance and leave.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose Aajar if you have under 100 people and want attendance, leave and payslips at a low per-user price. It also fits if a CA or accountant already handles your PF, ESI and TDS filings, or if you want to keep using an eSSL biometric machine.
- Choose greytHR if you want the software itself to generate statutory filings such as ECR, ESI challans and Form 24Q. It also fits if you need performance reviews or recruitment in one system, or if you are large enough that the 50-employee base price is spread thin.
